It finally happened a couple weeks ago… Koreans can finally get the damn iPhone! Now I’m curious about how much data plans will cost. A friend of mine in Norway says data is ridiculously expensive, like it could seriously bankrupt you if you’re not paying attention. It wouldn’t shock me if Korea were the same way, but another friend who lives in Korea (and will soon be an iPhone convert) has encouraging news to report:
I’m pretty sure this is the price for the 16GB phone.
Basic Translation:
35,000 W / month
150 Minutes of talking
200 Text Messages
100 MB Data
100mb of data for most people should be plenty, especially if you spend the bulk of your days connected to wifi. 35,000 in Korean money translates to roughly US$30, and it’s important to note that in Korea you don’t pay for incoming calls so the 150 minutes is actually bigger than it sounds.
